Of course, there is a sliver of exaggeration in almost every story — she is an actress, after all — but like any good Shakespearean she can slip easily between tragedy and comedy ... Dench almost entirely won me over to the cause. She takes a childlike delight in language and in play, which is essentially what she is paid to do. Another implied critique of luvvies is that they are oblivious to the realities of the world. But jokes, games, silliness, charm, warmth: these are real things too ... Could have done with some pruning.
